About IIC
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has established the 'MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to systematically cultivate an innovative culture in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mission of MIC is to encourage, inspire, and nurture young students by assisting them in developing novel ideas and turning them into prototypes during their educational years. MIC intends to encourage the formation of 'Institution's Innovation Councils (IICs)' at selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be developed to encourage innovation in the institution through various modes, eventually leading to an innovation promotion eco-system on campus.
The primary emphasis of IIC:
To establish a thriving entrepreneurial culture in campus.
To create a ecosystem for innovative talent identification and novel business idea pre-incubation.
To contribute to strengthening the students intellectual ability.
Institution Innovation Council:
The MHRD's initiative Institution Innovation Council has been formed at SNMV CAS since 2019 , and all innovation promotion activities are routed through the SNMVCAS- IIC. Activities to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, start-up, and intellectual property rights (IPR) are being held with a broader scope, with participation from every department and the majority of students on campus. SNMVCAS IIC focuses on IIC activities, MIC activities, celebration activity and self-driven activities that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, startup, and incubation as directed by the MIC. IIC-directed activities were completed successfully.
